Events

PCS Friends organizes and sponsors many events every year. These events provide different opportunities for parents to volunteer in support of Princeton Charter School.

In the past few years, Friends of PCS has played a pivotal role supporting PCS by holding throughout each year many fundraising events.  Since its inception, Friends of PCS has raised well over $1 million dollars and used those monies to finance much needed facilities and services for its great school.

Over the last 12 months, Friends has made expenditures of over  $80,000 to the following areas:

  • After school club subsidies: sports, science, music, chess and art
  • New Chromebooks/Tablets to ensure all students have access to a device
  • COVID-19 support needs for teachers, facilities, virtual learning
  • Supplemental classroom supplies and required materials
  • Fund Special Guest Speakers, Student Field Days and class trips
  • Support for economically disadvantaged families

In the school year of 2020-2021, Friends has proudly supported the following events:

FESTIVELY FOSTER
Princeton Charter School will be given a 5-6 ft evergreen that will be placed at 140 Nassau Street and we need to decorate it by November 30th. We worked with Ms. DiamondÕs creative guidance and support. We will also proudly show our new school ÒlogoÓ on the tree. After December 1st you can walk on Nassau Street with the kids and visit our ÒtreeÓ (how exciting for them to be able to see their wish) We also will welcome anyone who would like to help Òcare for our treeÓ over the next 5 weeks. (water and love is all that is needed).

You are invited to participate in our Halloween parade on campus on Saturday, October 31st. This event is for students and their families, not for neighborhood friends, to keep our gathering numbers under control.

Come and join the fun! There will be guest appearances from your favorite teachers and staff members; elementary and middle school. See if you can guess them! Friends is providing goodie bags for all! Mr. Ciuffreda will spin spooky tunes.

MEET THE PRINCETON BOARD OF EDUCATION ELECTION CANDIDATES VIA ZOOM

There are 8 candidates up for election this year. We have a special PCS families only Zoom “Meet the BOE Candidates” meeting on Monday, September 28th at 7:00 PM. It is a great opportunity to raise some questions and also show the value of the PCS families in the community.
FLOWERS ARE BLOOMING AT PCS
Friends of PCS would like to say thank you to Kale’s Nursery and Madden Family Farm for discounting the plants that you see in our outdoor planters on campus. A small face lift ensures that the staff and faculty have a “home from home” feel when they come in to work during this difficult time. Big thank you to Friends’ parent volunteers and their green thumbs: Britt Bicker, Sharon Litvinsky and Dori Vales.
