Dear Princeton Charter School Families,

As we close out our 2022-2023 school year, I want to express my gratitude to the Friends of Princeton Charter School organization. The School has greatly benefited from the partnership with  Friends over our 26 year history, and never more than in this past year.  It has been a challenging budget year for our school and Friends has been able to provide significant financial support beyond their standard funded program.

As you may know, Friends of Princeton Charter School (“Friends”) is a 501c (3) non-profit corporation, established in 1997. It is a Parent Teacher Organization (“PTO”) dedicated to support the charitable purposes of enriching the educational outcomes of the children enrolled in Princeton Charter School (“PCS”). Each year Friends establishes a budget based upon our student and school needs both with regularly recurring programs as well as with any special priority needs not currently supported in standard school funding.

Funds raised by Friends have been utilized wholly or in part to:

  • Fund and/or subsidize the existing after-school programs, including sports, science, music, chess, and art clubs.
  • Purchase Chromebooks, tablets, and smart board interactive displays, to enable technology for all grades.
  • Fund critical priority needs for teachers and administration.
  • Fund special guest visits, school picnics, student field days, and student class trips.
  • Fund outdoor play areas and student enrichment.
  • Purchase classroom supplemental materials.
  • Provide teacher training grants.
  • Provide support for economically disadvantaged families.

Our entire parent community contributes to Friends through both their volunteer hours as well as the fundraising activities that go on year long. These programs are crucial to our school experience and the educational outcomes for your children.

I wanted  to provide specific details this year given the significant support Friends has provided and to reinforce the importance it is to participate and donate with Friends.
